Recent Changes regarding Hamilton County Department of Job and Family Foster Parents!

A recent statement was issued: "As of Jan. 22, 2010 Hamilton County's Department of Job and Family Services will begin working exclusively with contracted providers for foster care services. All county foster homes will transfer to network providers. This change will allow the homes to receive additional support and resources, while the county can reallocate its limited resources to more urgent areas of need." - source: Hamilton County DJFS

We would like to schedule a time to meet with your family individually to discuss any questions you may have regarding the transfer process. Please call April Logan at 800-927-1018 to schedule an in home meeting.

Diversion has experience working with younger children and children with special medical needs as well as sibling groups.  Call to find out more about our experience.

Mission Statement

Diversion is a non-profit treatment foster care and adoption agency, which provides safe and nurturing families with intensive case management services. This is achieved by focusing on the immediate and on-going physical psychological, educational and emotional needs of the child and family. We strive to provide the highest quality of services to children and families by offering crisis intervention, on call availably, individualized treatment plans and small caseloads.

Diversion believes that there should be a continuum of services available for families and children.  This continuum starts with home based services designed to strengthen and maintain the family as a unit, moves to using the extended family as a resource then to foster care.  Out of home services should be based as close to the families community as possible and designed to bring about reunification of the family as rapidly as possible with after care services provided.  In providing foster care, it is understood that the purpose is for short-term care, with reunification of the family as the main goal.  In situations where there is no family or reunification is not possible, Diversion will provide long-term foster care or assist in preparation toward adoption or emancipation.
